Normally when a big shiny Unreal powered game plops into our inbox here at Pocket Gamer we raise a collective eyebrow, say "that looks nice", and then write a news story about how the proof of the App Store pudding is always in the playing.

But Epic of Kings is from Dead Mage. And Dead Mage made the really bloody good gory action platformer Shadow Blade. So we're going to do pretty much the same, but with the proviso that this one has some pedigree.

We don't have much info about the game, but from the trailer above it looks like a mix of Infinity Blade-style scraps and dodging QTEs. All presented in super-duper slick Unreal Engine pretties.

There looks to be a bibbly storyline, lots of dragons, and plenty of hacking and slashing. There'll probably be brutish grunting as well. There's always brutish grunting.

Almost a month since we saw its last tweak, Crossy Road has recently pushed a new update live on the App Store and Google Play, and it's a little prehistoric.

Take Crossy Road back a couple billion years and this is what you'll get – sort of. The newest update features 13 new dinosaur-related figures, from palaeontologists to skeletal beasts, and a cracking primeval level complete with a variety of your favourite reptilian monsters.

Of course, we're not forgetting to mention the special Flat Eric figurine. It may represent the musician's puppet friend but it makes its purpose known as it's currently offered for free and throws up a screen reminding us that Flat Eric's newest single ft. Skrillex is available, so that's nice.

If you haven't got the game already, grab your copy here on the App Store or Google Play. While you're at it don't forget to check out our guide on catching 'em all…er…collecting them all.

Miss Elizabeth had this put in when she made the house over fifteen years ago. It was a big, old-fashioned fireplace where you could have roasted an ox. Many's the time I've sat here and spun yarns, same's I'm doing tonight." … Read more
Silence and twilight fell over the garden. Far away the sea was lapping gently and monotonously on the bar. The wind of evening in the poplars sounded like some sad, weird, old rune--some broken dream of old memories. A slender shapely young aspen rose up before them against the fine maize and emerald and paling rose of the western sky, which brought out every leaf and twig in dark, tremulous, elfin loveliness. … Read more
